Sub: Problem of frequent power cuts in Shanti Vihar.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I want to draw the attention of the authorities towards a very serious problem. There are frequent power cuts in our area for the last few days. This problem is increasing day by day. People in our area are very unhappy and face many troubles.
Electricity is a basic human need today. Without it, life is very difficult. These days, students are preparing for their Board Examinations. They need to study late at night. Because of the frequent power cuts, they cannot read their books properly. It is a great loss for them. If this continues, it will affect their exam results and their future.
Not only students, but hospitals are also facing big problems. Doctors cannot check patients in the dark. It is very hard to monitor sick people without power. At night, the whole area stays in total darkness. This darkness encourages thieves and bad people. In fact, three such crimes happened in our colony in the last few days. People are now afraid to go out at night.
Furthermore, we cannot even pump water to our tanks because the motors do not work without electricity. We are paying our electricity bills on time every month, but the service is very poor. It is very difficult for local shopkeepers and businesses to work. Everyone is suffering.
The Department of Electricity should look into this matter seriously. They should fix the old wires and stop these power cuts immediately. I hope you will publish my letter in your newspaper so that the higher authorities can see our pain. I hope they will take strict action soon.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Ankush (Resident of Shanti Vihar Complex)
