What is Prashnix?

Prashnix is an offline examination design platform that helps educators build their own reusable assessment system. From curriculum management and question banks to examination patterns, intelligent paper generation, review, and professional export, every stage is designed to support high-quality assessment rather than simply generating documents.

Who is Prashnix designed for?

Prashnix is designed for schools, coaching institutes, and educators who want examination papers to reflect their own teaching, their own questions, and their own assessment philosophy instead of relying entirely on generic question banks.

How is Prashnix different from a traditional question paper generator?

Traditional generators often focus on selecting questions from an existing database and exporting a document. Prashnix helps educators build a reusable assessment system that grows over time. Every question you add and every paper you create becomes part of a long-term academic asset.

Can I use my own questions?

Absolutely. Prashnix is built around the idea that your own questions are your most valuable academic resource. You remain in complete control of your question bank.

Does Prashnix include a question bank?

Prashnix includes sample content to help you explore the software. However, its greatest strength lies in helping you build and continuously improve your own question bank.

Is Prashnix suitable for small schools?

Yes. Whether you manage a small question bank or a large institutional repository, Prashnix is designed to scale with your requirements.

Does Prashnix require an internet connection?

No. After activation, Prashnix works completely offline. An internet connection is only needed if you wish to download updates or contact support.

Why does Prashnix use Device ID activation?

Each installation generates a unique Device ID. This allows licenses to remain secure while ensuring the software continues to function entirely offline after activation.

What is Explore Mode?

Explore Mode allows you to install Prashnix and explore the complete interface before activating a Trial or Professional license. It is designed to help you understand the workflow before beginning full evaluation.

What is the difference between Explore, Trial and Professional?

Explore Mode allows you to browse the software interface.

Trial allows you to evaluate the complete workflow, including exports with limited content replacement.

Professional unlocks unrestricted paper generation and exports.

How do I request a Trial activation?

Simply send your Device ID, name, school name, and contact information. A Trial activation code will be issued after verification.

Can I upgrade from Trial to Professional?

Yes. Your existing data remains unchanged. Only your license changes.

What happens if I reinstall Windows?

If your Device ID changes, contact support for assistance with reactivation.

Can I transfer my license to another computer?

Licenses are tied to a specific Device ID. Please contact support if you need to move your license to a different computer.

Why should I build my own question bank?

Every experienced educator develops questions that reflect their own classroom, teaching style, and expectations. Building your own question bank allows every future examination to preserve that expertise while eliminating repetitive preparation work.

Can I import my existing questions?

Yes. Prashnix supports multiple import methods, helping convert existing academic material into a structured question bank.

Can I organize questions chapter-wise?

Yes. Questions can be organised using classes, subjects, units, chapters, topics, learning outcomes, question types, and other metadata.

Can I create bilingual question banks?

Yes. Questions can contain both English and Hindi content wherever applicable.

How would I avoid duplicate questions?

Prashnix has automatic similarity detection system which run on demand and gives percentage similarity between questions, very high percentage like 99.99 to 100% gives exact duplicates while more than 98 or so similarity means questions are identical in conceptual nature. Although final decision is always users.

What there are two modes: find similar vs cluster questions?

Both these check similarity between questions but differ by nature. find similar finds all the similar questions to selected question. On the other hand cluster questions find all the cluster of questions in given scope which are similar to each other.

Why there is create manual paper button on question browsing screen and how to user it?

This helps user create small class test papers which does not require blueprints. simply add questions to workspace and create manual paper.

What are families in Question browser?

Two kinds of families of questions are found in Prashnix. One is Passage and its sub questions. Other one is questions which are variants of same question as set by user

Are there any shortcuts available?

Yes! The Question Bank Manager supports several keyboard shortcuts to help you navigate, edit, and organize questions quickly without needing a mouse:

Clear Filters: Press Ctrl + R to reset all search boxes and filter dropdowns.

Quick Preview: Press Space or Enter on a selected row to open the question preview.

Set Preview Anchor: Press A on a selected row to lock it as the anchor question for comparison.

Edit Question: Press Ctrl + E to open the standard question editor.

Edit with TinyMCE: Press Ctrl + Shift + E to open the visual rich-text editor.

Add to Workspace: Press Ctrl + W to send selected questions directly to the staging workspace.

What does smart align html do under bulk actions in context menu?

This help fix the mismatch between Hindi and English question, along with fixing math equations and other discrepancies if found. You need Gemini API key to user this feature.

What is a PPY?

A PPY defines the academic structure of an examination. It specifies the types of questions, marks, learning outcomes, internal choices, and other rules that remain consistent across examinations.

What is a Blueprint?

A Blueprint controls syllabus distribution while leaving the examination pattern unchanged. It allows educators to prepare different examinations, such as Half-Yearly or Annual, using the same PPY.

Why are PPY and Blueprint separate?

Separating examination structure from syllabus distribution makes both significantly more reusable. One PPY can support multiple Blueprints, reducing repeated work while improving consistency.

Can I create different Blueprints for the same PPY?

Yes. This is one of Prashnix’s core strengths.

Does Prashnix automatically balance chapter distribution?

Prashnix uses the rules defined in your PPY and Blueprint to generate balanced drafts while still allowing complete manual review before finalization.

What is a template?

Template define paper layout. It has four core features-sections, content headings, instructions, rule groups. Each of these feature enable user to add sections, group questions under heading with numbering suitable for MCQs, VSA, FIB, TF etc., instructions without numbering suitable for SA, LA etc. questions, and rule group to directly add questions.

Can I copy PPY rules from other PPY?

Yes. User can use import rules feature to import all rules from another PPY of same class and subject. This is beneficial in creating new PPY for new session with minor changes.

Can I import template structure?

Yes, like PPY rules you can import template structure from another PPY of same class and subject.

Does Prashnix automatically generate papers?

Yes. Papers can be generated automatically according to your examination rules, then reviewed and refined before export.

Can I replace automatically selected questions?

Yes. Every generated draft remains fully editable before it becomes the final examination paper.

Can I manually prepare papers?

Yes. Prashnix supports both automatic generation and manual paper preparation.

What is difference between locked and finalized draft?

Draft locking is feature to examine paper even before filling all question slots or for testing the final look of paper. It is a reversible action which means user can unlock and change certain questions if required. Finalized draft is final accepted paper and its irreversible hence no change in questions.

Why certain PPY or Blueprint does not show while creating draft?

Only locked PPY and Blueprint can be user to generate Question Papers.

What if draft creation gives error?

If this happens with a certain combination of PPY and Blueprint, most noted cause of draft creation error is too constraint blueprints. Read the error carefully and fix the blueprint. If you have any other error, contact support.

What if i accidently close while working on a draft?

No need to worry. All changes in Paper assembly are automatically saved. All selected questions will be there next time you open the same draft.

Can I edit questions directly from Paper assembly?

Yes, you can double click on slots to open preview which have option to edit questions.

Which formats are supported?

Professional examination papers can be exported in HTML and PDF formats.

Can I include school or institution details?

Yes. School information, examination details, instructions, and other template elements can be customised.

Does Prashnix support mathematical equations?

Yes. Mathematical expressions, tables, diagrams, and images are fully supported during editing and export.

Can I customize the paper layout?

Yes. Templates allow educators to design the appearance of examination papers independently from their academic structure.

Can I choose export paper fonts?

No, user can’t choose own fonts for pdf in version 2.1.2. All exports uses Times New Roman at 14 size for English text and Kokila font at size 18 for Hindi text, a Unicode alternative to legacy font “Shree Dev 0708” used by RBSE board and known for its rich readability on paper. User can use scale up or down to change pdf page counts.

Can l export answer key for all papers?

Yes, answer key is automatically generated for all the questions with answers available in Database.

Where is my data stored?

All curriculum, questions, templates, and examination papers are stored locally on your own computer.

Does Prashnix upload my questions to the cloud?

No. Prashnix is designed as an offline application and does not require cloud storage for everyday use.

Can I back up my data?

Yes. Regular backups are recommended and can be restored whenever required.

Can I set password to Prashnix?

User is asked to set pin on first use which is required to open Prashnix.

Where can I learn how to use Prashnix?

Video tutorials, documentation, and the Help Center provide step-by-step guidance for both new and experienced users.

How do I report a problem?

Please include your Device ID, Prashnix version, Windows version, screenshots (if available), and a description of the issue when contacting support.

How quickly are activation requests processed?

Most Trial and Professional activation requests are processed within one business day.
